Report of the Greening and Landscape Planning Service for 2023

In 2023, the Greening and Landscape Planning Service implemented the following activities within the framework of the budget program:

In order to preserve the green cover and enrich the species diversity on the territory of the boulevard, 2874 plants of various types of perennial trees were purchased and planted;

2 thousand annual seedlings of various types flowers were purchased and planted for the arrangement of thematic flower beds on the territory of the boulevard;

In accordance with the rules of agricultural work, 100 cubic meters of peat substrate were purchased, which was used for various works (planting, weeding) and for enriching the soil cover on the territory of the boulevard;

Purchase of 1250 square meters of natural grass cord (lump) for the restoration of the damaged lawn on the territory of the boulevard,

In order to conduct planned and preventive work against pests and diseases, various types of mineral and organic fertilizers, pesticides were purchased and used on the territory;

For the first time, 100 individual "passports" (stickers) were made from Alikabond material for various plants of the boulevard, which were pasted onto the corresponding tree-plants.

During 2023 y., trunks of amortized, dried, drying out and dangerous trees of different species were studied and identified by relevant specialists on the territory of the boulevard, 86 in total. The mentioned plants were cut down, and the firewood was handed over to the warehouse of the Batumi City Hall municipality.
Starting from February 2023, the inventory of trees and plants on the territory of the boulevard is being carried out, which involves the description of plants by botanical name, their country of origin, life form (tree, shrub, liana and sago) and approximate age. purchase of various spare parts, mowing and parts for proper operation of agricultural equipment;
Planned works In addition to the implementation of the mentioned programs, which serve to renew, restore, separation, protect (pest-diseases) and maintain the green plants on the territory of the boulevard, the service carried out additional plant care and formation of their high decorative value, namely: 1. Plant pruning ; 2. Pruning-shaping of plants; 3. Pruning palm trees; 4. Watering tree-plants (flowers). 5.Tree propping for the winter; 6. wrapping plants; 7. mowing;
In 2023, yellow sand was purchased for the running tracks, sand stadium and training corners in the new boulevard. (80 kb.m.)

2) Japanese garden

The Japanese Garden, one of the most visited places on Batumi Boulevard, was created in 2015. The garden is planted on an area of 1000 sq.m., which is planned with landscape design and elements characteristic of Japanese gardens.

Important elements of Japanese culture, such as torii/gate, pond, waterfalls, natural stone paths, kasugi and Japanese-style tree-plants, take guests to the seaside in a real Japanese world. This is a place that you will definitely fall in love with as soon as you see it.

Greening and Landscape Planning Service 2019 Report

In 2019, the greening and landscape planning service carried out important work in the direction of landscaping and care for 35 hectares of green space and about 40,000 trees-plants. In particular, during this period, 242 kbm of soil and 200 kbm of organic fertilizer were added to the soil; 6 tons of combined fertilizer NPK and 9 tons of nitrogen fertilizer "ammonium" Guarjila; Every day, with the help of tree planting equipment, 12 thousand young trees and plants were taken over and the soil was loosened, 13.5 thousand trees and plants were trimmed and the soil was loosened, 13.5 thousand bushes and young trees were trimmed and 4 thousand branches were cut.

Quite a rich gene pool of plants of Batumi Boulevard has been replenished with more than 4000 evergreen and ornamental trees of different varieties. In order to eliminate sparseness, flower beds have been updated, 856 trees have been planted, namely: red maple - 10 trees, sophora - 5 trees, weeping cedar - 3 trees, dwarf rose - 700 trees, ornamental sycamore - 15 trees, Taxus tree - 6 trees , Taxus baccata shrub - 4 sapling, Coastal pine - 20 tree, Cedar - 15 trees, Thuja - 20 sapling, Cypress - 15 feet, Horse chestnut - 12 sapling, Swamp cypress - 15 t5 sapling, False camphor - 1 sapling, Evergreen oak - 12 sapling , and Rosa Multiflora - 240 sapling.

In the spring and summer months, 15,000 trees-plants were treated 3 times against fungi and pests, namely: Magnolias, Camphors, various types of Palms were treated against fungal diseases, and Deer antlers, Ilexes, Laurel, Roses, various shrubs and annual flowers were treated against pests.

In June,, the Iason Gordeziani square was organized, where more than 4,000 different types of decorative trees and plants were planted.

450,000 seedlings of different types of annual flower were planted on the renovated 3500 square meter flower beds.

In parallel with the mentioned works, during this entire period, lawns were weeded daily - on 35 hectares (3 times a month), flower beds were cleaned of weeds, watered, lawns were weeded and cleaned, young trees and plants were watered, dry branches were cutm and tree-plants were trimmed - shaped.

By the end of the year, all the agro-technical measures provided under the plan will be completed.

Iason Gordeziani Square

Another recreational space was created on the old boulevard, next to the historic colonnade. Iason Gordeziani Square was created next to the statue of Iason Gordeziani. The new square was covered with decorative tiles and curbs. Decorative garden benches, day and night lights were placed. More than 4,000 different types of decorative trees and plants were planted, including hundred-year-old rare Taxus trees.
