Greening and Landscape Planning Service 2020 Report - Batumi Boulevard 1881

In 2020, the Greening and Landscape Planning Service completed all the agro-technical works throughout the boulevard that were planned during the year. On the whole perimeter, tree-plant care works were carried out in several directions. Namely: before digging, were added. 227 kb of forest soil and 114 sq.m. of organic fertilizer - cattle manure. 6.5 tons of mineral fertilizers (ammonium nitrate and combined NPK fertilizer). Throughout the year, the soil loosened 27,000 young trees. Also, in spring and autumn, decorative pruning-trimming was carried out on 15,500 seedlings of various shrubs and young trees.

Laurels, deer antlers, roses, elixirs, evergreen oaks, various shrubs and annual flowers were treated with pesticides against harmful diseases 5 times, as well as 250 thousand sq.m. of roads, squares, coastline were sprayed with herbicides on to eradicate weeds.

491 420 seedlings of various annual flowers were planted on flower beds in spring and autumn, including: 318 920 seedlings in spring and 172 500 seedlings in autumn, as well as 1355 ornamental tree seedlings were planted to eliminate voids. Overgrown lawns have been restored and grass covering was covered on an area of 3500 sq.m.

Appropriate measures were taken to overwinter young trees and palms. 7,550 young trees and over 2,500 young palms were staked and tied.

In parallel with these works, during the whole season, such works, for example, as mowing lawns were carried out daily on 35 hectares 2-3 times a month.

Annual flowers and young plants were systematically watered during drought, flower beds and pots were cleaned of weeds, trunks of palms and trees were cleaned of moss and dried branches, and more.
