Batumi Boulevard will be involved in one more international project in the field of environmental protection
Batumi Boulevard continues to work in the field of environmental protection.
To further raise public awareness, a Mutual Cooperation Memorandum was signed between Batumi Boulevard and Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA GEORGIA).
The Memorandum envisages the implementation of the Maritime Waste Management Project with the EMBLAS PLUS support and EU funding. The Memorandum was signed by Director of Batumi Boulevard Irakli Jincharadze and President of the Association WISTA Georgia Lali Khvedelidze.
According to Irakli Jincharadze, director of Batumi Boulevard, Batumi Boulevard has been actively involved in environmental activities and projects lately. “A number of educational events were organized by Batumi Boulevard to raise awareness. Batumi Boulevard has recently become an official member-partner of the Foundation for Environmental Education, a work on the Blue Flag program, aimed at achieving a high standard, environmentally friendly benchmark on the Batumi coast has begun. Today's Memorandum is also a continuation of the priorities set by us, so we are very pleased to be involved in the project proposed by WISTA Georgia and are ready to take part in all activities planned in the field of environment protection, ”said Irakli Jincharadze.
Within the framework of the Maritime Waste Management Project, several activities are planned, such as removing waste from some areas of the Georgian coastline, as well as conducting seminars on the protection of the Black Sea.
As representatives of WISTA Georgia Association say, due to the actuality of the problem, it is possible to easily identify the waste found on the coast of Georgia through a smartphone application. As a result of the information obtained through this application, an appropriate report will be prepared, which will in the future simplify the reduction of the amount of harmful waste on the coast.
