Planting of seasonal flowers has started on Batumi Boulevard
Seasonal Autumn-winter annual flowers seedlings are being planted on Batumi Boulevard. New seedlings of chrysanthemum, viola, clove and primrose are being planted in the flower beds and green spaces by the staff of the Greening and Landscape Planning Service. Prior to planting, on the existing flower beds preparatory work was carried out. Seasonal annual flowers were removed, soil was cultivated, sprinkled and cleared of weeds. As part of the autumn planting works, about 300,000 annual flowering plants will be added to the Boulevard plant cover and planting activities along the entire perimeter of the boulevard will continue until the end of October.
The Boulevard Greening Service has carried out important works that were planned during the year. Gardeners dig and loosen the soil of 13 500 tree-plants daily. Along with the above mentioned works, the lawns are mow on 35 hectares; organic fertilizers are applied in the soil, the cleaning of flower beds, watering the plants and other care works. Four times a year 15,000 tree-plants are poisoned against fungal and pest diseases.
It is noteworthy that the quite rich genome of plants of Batumi Boulevard was enriched with more than 4000 evergreen and ornamental trees this year. The flower beds have been renovated, and in order to eliminate the voids were transplanted 856 rootstocks, namely: red maple, yew (taxus), tuja, evergreen oak, etc.
Preparations for the winter season on the Boulevard will begin next week.
